What's New at West Lake
State of Lake
An update from our Board:

We are happy to say that the efforts of our community members are making our Lake CLEAN AND USABLE. Back in the early 2000's, there were concerns that the channel to the Bay could close and be devastating to the Lake ecology and subsequently , our property values.
The HOA commissioned a Ecological Report from
Stony Brook University,
School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences
and moved forward with a plan to deepen the Channel. Today, your fellow member volunteers continue annual maintenance, as needed, to maintain adequate channel depth. We have more fish, eel, clams, crabs then ever before. We hope that this is the year our feathered Lake Mascot, "Walter" takes a bride and establishes a home in our Osprey Nest here in West Lake!
Circa 197?
Aerial View of West Lake in the 70's- some things change-some things stay the same. We have more photos and hope to post them for all to see.
We would love to see your Historic Lake Photos.
If you have anything to share, please email them to us!

Ospr'hey'!
It's Early April 2024 and the First sighting of a pair of Ospreys have been Captured on Our Lake!
We've playfully named them "Barbara" and "Walter".
Alvin is keeping an eye on them while they build their nest. We hope to get a wildlife camera in position after this nesting season to keep an eye on "Walter" and his family and provide a link for all to enjoy in 2025.
Lake Weather????
One of our Creative Members has installed a weather station on his property. I understand that it may be available to the Membership to give us a better idea of what's going on outside. This may sound silly, but I can tell you that while I watch a Summer SW breeze kick up, houses on the East side of the Lake get hammered, Houses on the West Side hardly feel the Breeze.....
